ROLL MODEL IMPACT STORY

Phuong Engleman

Phuong Engleman originally came to the United States to attend school at Dallas Theological Seminary and pursue a Master’s degree in Biblical Studies.

Coming from a different religious background, this was nearly unheard of, but Phuong began to follow Christ after attending a local conference. With a new sense of purpose and faith, she finished her education and began the search for a career and faced many challenges due to her lack of work experience in the United States.

Around that time, there was an opening at Van’s Kitchen for a Secretary position. After one interview with Theresa, it was evident to the Van’s Kitchen team that there was something very special about Phuong. She quickly became a key player on the team, holding various roles throughout the years in Procurement, Quality, and Research and Development. Van’s Kitchen became Phuong’s family, where she grew both professionally and personally, and was encouraged to always seek after the Lord’s will.

Phuong believed in the purpose of Van’s Kitchen and demonstrated the values daily through her authentic actions and showing love towards others. The people at Van’s Kitchen were her mission field and where she felt God called her to work.

Phuong encouraged others through prayer, sharing scripture, and walking alongside them through every season. She is an inspiration for those who are also immigrants trying to find their place in a new nation.

Although Phuong returned to Vietnam to serve alongside her husband in ministry, she continued to bring light and value to the Van’s Kitchen team for years through her remote work. She believes it was no coincidence that the Lord brought her to Van’s Kitchen, and it’s evident in her journey every step of the way. From her time with the company, she was offered an opportunity, equipped with the tools for success, and pushed to pursue her passion of full time ministry and serving others. The connections and impact she made still lives on in our company today, and we are overjoyed to witness Phuong rise up, conquer challenges and fulfill her dreams.
